Mystery Question: Can anyone solve the mystery of the Sirius Sisters? Sirius is the name of the brightest star in the night sky, but more properly referred to as Sirius "A" because there are three sister stars: Sirius A, Sirius B, and Sirius C. The Egyptians equated Sirius A with Isis, and Sirius B with Nephthys, whom they referred to as  the dark sister of Isis, but they did not have a name for Sirius C. But the Dogon tribe of Mali, more than 5,000 years ago did have a name for C which was emme ya tolo (the star of the female sorghum). Sirius C is the most mysterious. Her presence can be felt, but not seen. The Sirius Sisters and the Dogon tribe's knowledge of them is found in their mythology that they explained to Griaule and Dieterlen which they wrote about, with diagrams created by the Dogon themselves, and published in The Pale Fox. There are some missing pieces of the puzzle I am trying to put together in my own study of this subject. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has some insight into this subject, or can share some additional knowledge with me. Thank you.
